Welcome to the KTY School Holiday Program!
Get ready to DANCE!
If you love to dance, have fun and make new friends, then you have come to the right place! The KTY School Holiday Program is packed full with an exciting and varied selection of dance styles, infused with drama, arts and creative games. Dance styles will include: jazz, hip hop, lyrical, contemporary, acro, break dancing and musical theatre as well as drama games and activities throughout the day. We also have a performance at the end of each day to show parents and friends what we have learnt throughout the day!
Due to the current Covid restrictions, this performance will be closed for parents in the studio, but we will broadcast on a private Zoom link.
See details below in the performance section for the zoom link.
Please note that due to the small numbers of attendees in the 4-6 year old category, the 12:30 performance will be able to be watched in the studio by one parent/guardian per child.

The Space Dance and Arts Centre, Level 1. 318 Chapel St, Prahran, 3181

Food and Drinks
There are 2 breaks each day of the program. A short 15min morning tea and 45min lunch break.
Please make sure your child has enough food for the whole day. NO SHARING OF FOOD OR WATER BOTTLE.
A water bottle is essential. The Space has a water fountain where water bottles can be refilled through out the day via the bottle filler tap. No drinking for the water fountain itself is allowed.
If your child has a food allergy, please let one of our teachers know at sign in. Children are not allowed to share food and are fully supervised for each break.
All students enrolled in the School Holiday Program must stay on the premises for the duration of the day and may only leave with a parent or guardian. All breaks are taken in an assigned studio and fully supervised.
The Space has drinks and a limited selection of healthy snacks that can be purchased from reception.
Electronic Devices
At our School Holiday Program, we like to promote a fun, social environment where our students can focus on learning new skills and making new friends. So we ask that electronic devices such as iPads and GoPros be left at home. Mobile Phones are permitted but for emergency’s only and to contact parents or guardians. We ask that phones be kept in the students bag for the day.
What To Wear
It is recommended all students wear comfortable clothing that is easy to move in such as:
Track pants or leggings
T Shirts or Tank Tops
Light jackets or jumpers (depending on the season)
Closed toed runners or sneakers. Thongs or sandals are not recommended as they can be difficult to dance in.
While The Space will provide hand sanitiser, students are welcome to bring their own supply
School Holiday Program students are more then welcome to dress in their favourite dance/party outfit, as long as it is appropriate to dance in and wear for the entire day.
End of Day Performance
At the end of each day, our school holiday program students get a chance to perform what they learnt in class that day.
The show will broadcast on Zoom at 3:30 pm sharp:

FAQS
My child has never danced before, can he/she still participate?
Absolutely! Our school holiday programs are about having fun with dance and learning something new. No experience needed!
Can you provide a breakdown of the day?
A timetable for each age group is available on our website: https://www.thespace.com.au/school-holiday-program

All of our teachers are required to present a valid Working with Children Check.
Can another parent pick up my child?
Yes, so long as we have received written or verbal consent from you and a full name and contact number. Please let one of our teachers know when you sign in at the beginning of the day that you child will be collected by another parent or guardian.
